About Steven

You could say Steven Belchetz is privy to insider information. With his background as a highly successful portfolio manager and manager of managers, Steven has inside knowledge of professional portfolio management and what is required to deliver a first-class investment program. He also knows how to build a thriving investment counselling service, having co-founded Ernst & Young’s multi-billion dollar Investment Advisory Services Practice. He brings these invaluable experiences to his role as President and Chief Investment Officer of T.E. Investment Counsel (TEIC).

Following the completion of a B.A. at the University of Western Ontario and M.B.A. at McMaster University, Steven originally had his sights set on an investment banking career but a chance meeting with an investment counselling firm changed his mind. Attracted by the prospect of looking after people’s money and acting in their best interests, he switched career direction and has never looked back. Since joining T.E.I.C in 2003, Steven has introduced the proprietary Prosperity™ Investment Program, led the effort to bring T.E.I.C to the institutional market and overseen an increase of more than 150 percent in assets under management.
