About Blaine

Blaine Knott knows first hand the challenges aboriginal communities face as they seek to effectively manage settlement proceeds. As a member of Peguis First Nation in Manitoba and graduate of the University of Alberta’s native studies program, Blaine spent several years visiting First Nation communities throughout western and northern Canada as Regional Manager, Aboriginal Services for one of Canada’s Chartered banks. In a volunteer capacity, he has worked with the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation to deliver the ‘Blueprint for Future Aboriginal Youth Conference’ and helped with the organization of Edmonton’s National Aboriginal Day celebrations. As National Manager, Aboriginal Services with T.E. Wealth, Blaine has the specific mandate of bringing financial education, best investment practices and good governance to aboriginal communities.

Blaine sees the receipt of settlement monies as a significant step for aboriginal communities to create positive change and a legacy for generations to come. With his understanding of the aboriginal community and T.E. Wealth’s unique suite of services, Blaine can propose objective solutions that will help these communities realize their goals. His greatest satisfaction comes from seeing community leaders recognize the benefits of having an overall plan for accountability and good governance, supported by a sound investment policy and financial education for community members. From Blaine’s perspective, it’s all about helping indigenous communities understand what is possible and providing the tools and support they need to make it happen.
