Sweet Successions: Financial preparedness for multi-generational families
There is an old adage which says the greatest wealth is health. We think so too, which is why T.E. Wealth invited Executive Weight-loss coach, Adele Tevlin, to be the keynote speaker for last month’s Speaker Series event, The Art of Living Well and Leaving Wills.
With a background in neuropsychology, Adel offered a unique perspective on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through being more mindful of our behavioural eating patterns. Adel was preceded by our in-house expert Marcy Ages, senior consultant and certified professional consultant on aging, who spoke about estate planning issues and highlighted some recent changes to testamentary trusts.
We sincerely appreciated having this chance to come together with our clients and their guests to share an evening of cocktails and thought provoking conversation – it was one of our best events yet! But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what some of them had to say:
“Very appreciative that these topics were covered. Having enough money means being well enough to enjoy life!”
“Both topics exceeded my expectations. Excellent presentations.”
“The presentations were timely, clear and action oriented.”
Did you miss it? Don’t worry; we’re hosting another Speaker Series event across Canada this September where the topic will be succession planning. Stay tuned to find out who our guest presenter will be!

The turnout for our bi-annual T.E. Wealth Speaker Series events got off to a great start this year in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. These events are more than just a chance to bring topics of interest to our clients; they’re a chance for us to connect with you – and for you to connect with others, in that close-knit way that is so unique to the T.E. Wealth experience.
Based on client feedback from one of our previous Speaker Series events, The Art of Living Well and Leaving Wills was designed to provide you with important information on Will and estate regulations, such as the impact of owning multiple properties in different jurisdictions. Our presenters were in-house experts, Lynn Triffon (VAN), Karen Hall and Judith Fulton (CAL), and Marcy Ages (TOR).
This year, T.E. Wealth was again part of the annual convention and tradeshow held by the CRHA, marking the 50th anniversary of this Quebec-wide organisation of HR professionals. The event took place at the Palais des congrès in Montreal, November 12 – 13.
Largely attended by HR professionals, the CRHA event offers a space for individuals to experience cutting-edge learning which lets them excel in their field. In addition to various exhibits offering product or service solutions, there were presentations on diverse topics such as improving performance by engaging employees; health in the workplace; and the future of human resources management.
Karen Hennessy, Hany Malek and various other T.E. Wealth consultants attended to our booth, and spoke with convention attendees about the importance of financial counsel and financial education in a firm’s overall risk management strategy.
The Top Employers Summit is Canada’s largest event for senior-level HR professionals. T.E. Wealth was delighted to take part in the annual event again this year, which was held at the Hilton Hotel in Toronto, November 13 – 14.
Each year, the Summit presents a line-up of world-class speakers, thought-leaders and case studies from their annual competition. This year’s keynote speaker was former U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton. TE Consultant, Roland Chiwetelu, Financial Education & Employer Services had the opportunity of speaking with Mrs. Clinton between talking with attendees about the importance of executive-level financial education in a firm’s overall risk management strategy.
If you would like more information about the ways executive financial counsel programs – a suite of customized and confidential financial planning and tax management services – can manage multiple risks, please contact Roland at email@example.com 416-640-8597.
