Eldercare network now in place
Given our aging population, concerns about caring for the elderly are on the rise. Whether you are looking for care for an elderly parent or relative, or wondering what plans you should put in place for yourself, T.E. Wealth has assembled a network of knowledgeable professionals to help. The Care Network was spearheaded by Marcy Ages, Consultant and Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) at T.E. Wealth in Toronto, to assist clients with the many concerns and tasks associated with caring for the aged. “If any of my clients have concerns about their own care needs or those of an older relative, I want to be able to refer them to a trusted resource and know that they will be well looked after,” explains Marcy.
The Care Network brings together recognized professionals from key disciplines.
For finding practical solutions for care needs, Debbie Gilbert, Certified Senior Advisor and founder of Generations, works with families to help them navigate the various agencies and facilities to find the right solution to their eldercare needs.
When people have to downsize or move to an assisted living facility, Anita Evans, Sales Representative with Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd. Brokerage, can help with any real estate transactions and Paula Gardner, a Professional Organizer and Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist and owner of A Savvy Solution, helps seniors and their families organize the move and downsize possessions.
For legal needs such as wills, powers of attorney, trusts, Victoria Winter, Beard Winter LLP, brings considerable legal experience in succession planning and estate management to the team.
For working out the financial aspects of eldercare, Marcy Ages, Consultant, T.E. Wealth, helps clients and their elderly relatives do the financial planning required to ensure they can afford the care that is needed.
The Care Network will be hosting a series of information sessions relating to aging and eldercare. The first one is scheduled for November 24th, 2010 in Toronto. Dr. Michael Gordon, one of Canada’s best known geriatric medical specialists, will be speaking about the difficult personal and ethical challenges families face during the later years of life of parents and loved ones.
