As a Vice President in the Toronto office, Brent works with a variety of individuals who have financial planning needs in both Canada and abroad. His client base includes professional athletes, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives.
Brent’s approach is to lay out all options for an individual, and then discuss the pros and cons of each so that his clients can make informed decisions.
Brent worked as an intern with Ernst & Young LLP and later went on to article there and earn his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation. After becoming a CA, Brent had his first exposure to the cross-border issues facing U.S. and Canadian expatriates – an area in which he now specializes.
Brent later joined BDO Canada LLP, eventually working his way up to a senior manager role in BDO’s U.S. tax department. He joined T.E. Wealth in 2013 to broaden his horizons, and to offer his clients a full complement of financial planning services.
Brent holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) and Certified Investment Manager (CIM) designations.
Brent holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University. While at Queen’s, he was a perennial member of the Dean’s Honour List, as well as an academic scholarship recipient. In his spare time, he volunteered with the Kingston Frontenacs Hockey Club, eventually becoming an Ontario Hockey League scout – a pastime he continues today with the Ottawa 67’s.
